The Parish Council is made up of 5 councillors:

The Parish Council has responsibility for local issues, including setting an annual precept to cover the council’s operating costs and producing annual accounts for public scrutiny.
The Parish Council is consulted on local planning applications and works with the local police, Somerset Council officers, and neighbourhood watch groups on matters of crime, security, and traffic.
The Parish Council’s role also includes initiating projects for the maintenance and repair of parish facilities, as well as consulting with Somerset Council on the maintenance, repair, and improvement of highways, drainage, footpaths, public transport, and street cleaning. Conservation and environmental issues are also the responsibility of the council.
The Parish Council owns the children’s play area (Land Registry title number ST167405) and the pump house.
Vacancy For a Parish Councillor – 9 April 2026
Due to the resignation of Councillor Chris Summers there is a vacancy for a Parish Councillor.
Unless ten electors within the Parish give notice within 14 working days* from the date of this notice requesting that an election be held, the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
The requests can be made by writing to the Chief Executive, Electoral Services, Somerset Council, County Hall, The Crescent, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 4DY.
They can also be made via email: Elections@somerset.gov.uk
The requests do not have to arrive at the same time.
* These are full working days which do not include weekends or bank holidays.
